Photos of the whole machine, identification plate, hour meter, undercarriage or tires, and included attachments help me understand the lot. If it is unsafe to access an area, skip that photo.
For a non-running machine, tell me whether it starts, moves, steers, or lifts, but only if you already know. No need to operate or repair it for an inquiry. Note detached buckets, flat tires, missing parts, leaks, and whether a transporter can reach the machine; loading requirements need to be agreed before pickup.

Yes. Running or not, it's worth asking about. An excavator with a bad hydraulic pump, a blown final drive, high hours, or a machine simply retired from a project or fleet can still have value. Tell us what's going on, send photos, and we'll still work up an offer.
What information should I send about my excavator or heavy equipment?
Send the make, model, year, hour-meter reading, whether it runs and moves, any known issues, and the pickup city or ZIP. A few clear photos of the data plate, undercarriage or tires, and the machine as a whole help us size up an offer faster.
